Dr. Mike Abrams
Ph.D., Pharmaceutical Development
Over 35 years of experience in drug discovery and development. Dr. Abrams was the founding CEO of Anormed and lead it for 10 years. He is a co-recipient of the 2009 Charles de Hevesy Nuclear Pioneer Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine, for his work in the discovery of the heart imaging agent, Cardiolite.
Dr. Murad was awarded the 1998 (along with Robert F. Furchgott and Louis J. Ignarro) Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the discovery that nitric oxide acts as a signalling molecule in the cardiovascular system. Their combined work uncovered an entirely new mechanism for how blood vessels in the body relax and widen.
Murad was Chief of Medicine at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center (1981–86), Associate Chairman, Dept. of Medicine, Stanford University (1984–86), and Acting Chairman, Dept. of Medicine and Acting Division Chief, Division of Respiratory Medicine from 1986-88.
Managing Director of Product Strategy & Design at M.Y. Capital Management Corp. and a Cofounder and Partner at FDP & Co., Western Canada’s premiere multi-family office.
Ms Chen is a BIV Top Forty under 40 and served as a Board Director of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, World Trade Centre (Vancouver) and a member of the GVBOT Policy Council (2016-18). Previously, she has served on the board of the Association of Women in Finance and is a graduate of Citi Bank’s Global Family Office Leadership Program (2017).
